The sea during the summer time is nearly always calm and cold in many places mainly because of the under surface waters which pour into. This is the reason why the water is not very salty in various parts.
The sea waters are suitable from May to the end of September, reaching the peak of the heating in July and August.
The Jon Sea is very rich in jod( ne rast se ke nje fjalor shqip –anglisht, shihe pak cdo the thote jod), and numerous fish. It`s crystal water and deep into it`s stony and rocky. All these make it a tremendous beauty, and suitable to be explored from the water surface or diving.
After some meters in Himara, you find yourself in a big depth, but however it still remains suitable to those who do not know swimming or for the little children.
